Rapid installation
Magnum have recently installed another 3 headed RP80 hotfoil machine into the UK. This machine was on show at Labelexpo and caused quite a stir. This is mainly because it was ordered with a full holographic servo driven criss cross foil feed system which means that it can print a holographic image in register and the head can be turned to print along the web to help with
difficult print jobs. The register system also gives the basis for RFID insertion with minimal expense. With an extension to the regular machine and an extra laminator the machine takes Rapid to another level. With these additions the machine can put RFID chips down onto virtually any substrate and then laminate the inlay before printing and die cutting. It offers an
effective and very economical solution to a very
expensive market.
In the RFID market we have seen some of the larger companies buying expensive machinery to insert chips and print the labels when the market is still very small
and only in its infancy. As the market grows and the customers push for the technology the prices will drop and the volumes will grow. Until then it is a market of small quantities and high value. The Rapid machine offers the highest quality hotfoil print and the flexibility to make RFID labels and holographic images at a sensible Price.
